Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is seeking a Medication Aide to administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy. The role supports the nursing team and may involve basic resident care, hygiene, and activities to promote well-being.

We offer PTO, medical/dental/vision options, and an Employee Assistance Program. Availability for days, evenings, and nights with weekend/holiday rotation is required to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or assisted living is preferred.
• Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
• Attends in-service training and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.
• Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred.
• Demonstrates abilities to work as a team.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
• Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy.
• Provide care including personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meals, and other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with nursing department, other departments, medical professionals and families to support residents’ well-being.
