Job summary

Blue Palms Health and Rehabilitation Center of DeLand is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to provide direct care and ensure safe medication administration for residents. You will document administrations, monitor for adverse reactions, and support daily living activities.

Role requires current Medication Aide certification, high school diploma, and prior long-term care experience. Strong organizational and communication skills, EMR proficiency, and CPR/First Aid certification are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Medication Aide.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living facility.
• Excellent knowledge of medication administration procedures and guidelines.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems (EMR).
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to residents according to prescribed orders and established policies and procedures.
• Document medications administered and any observed reactions or changes in resident condition.
• Monitor residents for any possible adverse reactions to medication and report findings to the nurse.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as dressing, grooming, and bathing.
• Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents, promoting their dignity and independence.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized medication room and stock supplies as needed.
