Job summary

Encanto Palms Assisted Living seeks an experienced caregiver to assist in administering medications to residents under physician orders, under nursing supervision and policy guidelines. The role requires a valid caregiver certification and fingerprint clearance.

The position entails a 5-day, 8-hour shift schedule with every-other-weekend work. Training and ongoing education are provided to maintain the highest standards of patient safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business material and regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Follow policies and procedures governing medication administration for residents.
• Note and report errors in medication administration.
• Assist in developing procedures to reduce medication errors and improve safety.
• Complete forms, charts, and reports as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and pharmacists.
• Report resident concerns to the Director of Nursing Services.
• Participate in quality assurance and medication pass improvement programs.
• Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications under physician orders.
