Job summary

Avantara Huron is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to join our caring team in South Dakota. You will administer medications, assist with daily living activities, observe residents’ conditions, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for our residents.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered SD CNA certificate, and state-approved Medication Aide training with CPR certification; 1 year of CNA/Meds experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Unencumbered South Dakota CNA certificate required.
• State-approved Medication Aide training and CPR certification required.
• One year CNA and Medication Aide experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor residents’ conditions.
• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living as needed.
• Observe changes and report to the clinical team.
• Maintain a safe environment and uphold education standards.

As a Medication Aide you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Huron by providing our residents with the medications they need, performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent, an unencumbered State of South Dakota C.N.A. certificate, successful completion of State of South Dakota approved Medication Aide training and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of C.N.A. and Medication Aide experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
