Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine P.C. is seeking a Medication Access Specialist to support patient care by ensuring timely medication access and managing essential administrative processes.

You will collaborate with providers, staff, pharmacies, and third-party organizations to handle complex workflows with attention to detail. The role focuses on prior authorizations, patient financial assistance, and various clinic administration tasks, all while maintaining HIPAA compliance and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a medical office/healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of insurance processes and prior authorization requirements.
• Ability to manage high-volume administrative workflows with accuracy.
• Proficiency in EMR documentation (Epic preferred).
• Excellent communication with patients, providers, staff, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process medication prior authorizations and appeals, coordinating requests via multiple channels.
• Coordinate patient financial assistance applications and document submission.
• Complete administrative forms (FMLA, disability, DMV), coordinating with patients and providers.
• Manage in-basket workflows, prioritizing messages across categories.
• Serve as liaison to pharmaceutical representatives and coordinate onsite visits.
• Manage medication sample inventory and proper disposal of expired meds.
• Complete clinic inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain emergency carts with timely updates and replacements.
