Job summary

Cooper Green Mercy Health Authority is seeking an entry-level Prescription Assistance Coordinator to support patients in accessing prescription assistance programs. You will act as a liaison among patients, healthcare teams, and pharmaceutical companies, handling prior authorizations, documentation, and status updates.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for prescription assistance programs and related organizations.
• Receive, verify, and record medication deliveries; maintain records.
• Document medications in EMR and notify patients of arrivals.
• Identify patients needing assistance through screenings and referrals; educate on programs and procedures.
• Assist patients in completing forms, gathering documents, and submitting applications.
• Advocate to expedite processing and ensure access to prescribed medications.
• Coordinate enrollment with providers, pharmacies, insurers, and patients; provide updates on statuses.
• Follow up with patients to track applications and resolve barriers.
• Maintain privacy-compliant records of needs, applications, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with case managers and other professionals to address social determinants of health.
