Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is hiring a Medicare Specialist to educate members on plans, process enrollments, and provide ongoing service. You will be a primary contact for guidance on Medicare options while driving new enrollment and sales growth.

Role emphasizes cross-selling opportunities, accurate documentation, and staying current with Medicare guidelines to ensure a high-quality member experience and achievement of production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in Medicare sales, health insurance, customer service, or inside sales preferred.
• Active health insurance license (or ability to obtain and maintain licensure).
• Demonstrated ability to meet sales, production, and enrollment goals.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Consult with and educate prospective and existing members on Medicare products, benefits, and coverage options through inbound and outbound calls
• Assess individual needs, recommend appropriate Medicare plans, and facilitate enrollments while delivering a high-quality customer experience
• Meet established production, retention, and performance goals
• Maintain accurate documentation of member interactions, sales activity, and enrollment activity within company systems
• Identify additional coverage needs and cross-selling opportunities while maintaining a member-focused approach
• Stay informed on Medicare guidelines, carrier products, and organizational procedures to ensure accurate communication and service delivery
