Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support Medicare Stars and quality initiatives, working under a licensed pharmacist to improve medication use and member experience. The internship runs May through August 2027 with three weeks off for IPPE, and may extend through December upon need.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Active intern license in the State of Michigan.
• Entering third year of pharmacy school August 2027.
• Experience with motivational interviewing techniques and open-ended questions.
• Reside in Michigan during internship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach to Medicare members to identify and address barriers to medication adherence and other medication-related quality opportunities.
• Utilize motivational interviewing and patient-centered communication techniques to support member engagement and medication adherence.
• Educate members regarding their medications, adherence, and disease-state considerations under pharmacist supervision.
• Educate members on Medicare Part D benefits and prescription drug coverage to improve understanding of benefits.
• Review available medication histories, claims, and other clinical information to identify opportunities.
• Support Medicare Stars pharmacy quality measures (adherence, SUPD, COB, Poly-ACh).
• Engage providers and pharmacies to resolve medication-related barriers and coordinate care.
• Support MTM activities, including Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) and documentation.
