Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services in Baltimore seeks a Route Service Technician (Box Truck Driver) to service accounts, operate a 26 ft straight truck, and uphold safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two+ years of customer service experience; route management preferred.
• CDL Class B preferred but not required.
• Current Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC).
• Must drive safely to prevent injury during loading/unloading and driving.
• Ability to read maps and demonstrate good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and transport waste safely according to all regulations.
• Plan daily schedules based on manifests and route sheets.
• Prepare and load trucks with supplies for daily service.
• Ensure customer waste is properly packaged for transport.
• Deliver high level of customer service to assigned accounts.
• Secure waste, supplies, and equipment prior to operating the vehicle.
• Complete all required paperwork including DOT Driver Logs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Adapt to fast-paced environments while maintaining safety.
• Other duties as assigned.
