Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a Medical Waste Route Driver to service assigned accounts, ensuring safe and timely waste pickup and delivery. You may transport waste between WMHS locations and customer sites, with on-board cameras, ELD, and GPS tracking to support safe operations.

The role requires a valid driver's license, potential immunization/credentialing as needed, and compliance with DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
• CMV drivers must be able to obtain a medical card by a certified medical examiner.

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned routes ensuring customers' waste is picked up in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
• Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, provincial, and local rules and regulations.
• Plans daily schedule based on customers' needs by reviewing daily paperwork (manifest, route sheets, previous VCR, etc.).
• Follows routing software route schedule.
• May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts; unload at WMHS and customer sites and secure waste.
• Ensure proper packaging/preparation of waste before transport.
• Provide the highest level of customer service; communicate issues to supervisor for resolution.
• Ensure paperwork and DOT Driver Log are complete.
• Communicate route changes to supervisor/dispatcher and cover for colleagues if needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip maintenance and log hours using ELD/Geotab where applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
