Job summary

WVU Health System in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests across disciplines in accordance with standard operating policies. Job description

Perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests in all laboratory disciplines by standard operating policies and procedures. Understand method principles, perform quality control, perform preventative maintenance, review, and analyze results as to accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. 1. Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: MD: No State License required OH: No State License required PA: No State License required WV: High Complexity Testing Personnel (HCTP) License OR Trainee License issued by the WV Department of Health
2. 2. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science OR Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, or 30 or more years of previous experience concurrent with CLIA grandfathered exception.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. 1. Certification as a Medical Technologist/ Medical Lab Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Additional Job Description

This staff member will train for six to eight weeks on dayshift in Hematology (Monday through Friday). Once trained the staff member will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5am to 5:30pm. This includes rotating holidays.
