Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide expert testing and champion results within a collaborative team. You will support patient care by performing accurate lab analyses and maintaining thorough documentation.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree with a preferred bachelor’s in Medical Technology, 1 year MT experience, and Florida licensure or ability to obtain during interview.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• 1 year MT experience preferred.
• Florida technologist license required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Licensure in one or more clinical areas; Generalist preferred (Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology).

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples per instructions and within the time frame.
• Take department responsibility in supervisor’s absence.
• Complete all required records/documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Use good judgment and independent thinking in interpretation of results.
• Review pending logs and result logs; resolve outstanding workload or notify relief staff.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all specimens/tests.
