Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests across all disciplines following SOPs.
• Understand method principles, perform quality control, maintenance, review, and analyze results for accuracy and acceptability.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and Licensure

• WV Licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) within 90 days if reporting moderate/high complexity testing.
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or related field, with one year of clinical lab training/experience.

Additional Requirements

• For West Virginia labs, specific licensure or training documentation as detailed in the original description.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT.
• Experience as a Medical Technologist.

Core Duties

• Process and analyze samples accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments.
• Perform quality control and troubleshooting.
• Perform phlebotomy and report findings.
• Ensure compliance with safety and infection control policies.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with healthcare team.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Ability to lift, move, stand, and perform laboratory tasks.
• Work around odors and potentially infectious agents.
