Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to perform specimen collection, handling, processing, test analyses, reporting and record-keeping in a Towson, MD laboratory. Responsibilities include documenting quality controls, calibrations, and maintenance; ensuring safety per OSHA; and delivering friendly customer service while supporting a collaborative team.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma, keyboarding, 60 semester hours with chemistry/biology

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; keyboarding experience.
• 60 semester hours in chemistry/biology or related science, or an associate degree.
• Clinical rotations in microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology.
• ASCP certification preferred; registry-eligible considered.

Responsibilities

• Follow specimen collection, handling, processing, testing, reporting, and records maintenance per lab procedures; adhere to QC policies.
• Document all QC activities, calibration, and maintenance.
• Identify indicators affecting test performance and report to Lab Supervisor.
• Order, receive, and distribute lab stock as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA guidelines; provide professional customer service.
• Support teamwork and a positive, professional atmosphere.
• Complete other duties as directed.
