Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform moderate and high complexity testing in the Clinical Laboratory. You will analyze specimens, report results, and adhere to laboratory protocols to ensure accuracy and patient safety.

New graduates from an accredited Medical Technology program are welcome. This teaching hospital offers mentorship, ongoing education, and opportunities for growth within Laboratory Medicine.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Biological Science with NAACLS-approved Medical Technology program and certification.
• OR Baccalaureate Degree with NAACLS program plus ASCP Certification.
• CLIA ’88 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification) or Registry Eligible with pathway to certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and highly complex testing in the Clinical Laboratory.
• Reports results within defined time limits and flags STAT/critical values.
• Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Documents patient data in LIS and HIS for turnaround time and retrieval.
• Performs quality control and corrective actions per internal/regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities and proficiency testing.
• Maintains a safe laboratory environment and adheres to safety policies.
• Engages in continuing education and participates in mentoring and internal mobility.
