Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures for diagnosing and treating diseases. Utilizes equipment, instruments, and computer systems effectively. Evaluates and reports patient results using independent judgment within established testing methods. Maintains current knowledge and skills, applying them appropriately. Ensures age-specific and other required competencies. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies. Assists in developing and implementing new procedures and instrumentation. May oversee laboratory projects or functions such as PI, safety, quality control, regulatory compliance, administration, staff development, and computer systems (LIS, HIS, hospital intranet, PC applications). Trains new employees and students, evaluating their work, and acts as a resource for less experienced team members. Performs additional duties as assigned, working independently and as part of a team under supervision.

American Society for Clinical Pathology and National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required. An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completion of a NAACLS-accredited program recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for MLT is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with certification/licensure is required within 6 months of hire. Experience in clinical laboratory testing, especially moderate and high complexity, is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred, with expertise in moderate and high complexity testing. Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or the National Credentialing Agency is preferred.
