An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a skilled laboratory technician to perform specialized tests and procedures. Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures for diagnosing and treating diseases. Utilizes equipment, instruments, and computer systems effectively. Evaluates and reports patient results with considerable independent judgment within established testing methods. Maintains current knowledge and skills, applying them appropriately. Ensures age-specific and other required competencies are met. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of laboratory equipment, supplies, and facilities. Assists in developing and implementing new procedures and instrumentation. May oversee one or more laboratory projects or functions, such as PI, safety, quality control, regulatory compliance, administration, staff development, or computer systems (LIS, HIS, hospital intranet, PC applications). Trains new employees and students, evaluating their performance, and acts as a resource for less experienced staff. Performs additional duties as assigned. Works independently and collaboratively with supervision and periodic review by supervisory staff.

American Society for Clinical Pathology and National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required, or Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completed NAACLS accredited program recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for the MLT. Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with certification/licensure required within 6 months of hire, or an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or completed NAACLS accredited program recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for the MLT. Relevant experience is preferred.
Two years of clinical laboratory experience performing moderate and high complexity testing is preferred.
