Job Description

2. The Med Lab Scientist II performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures for diagnosing and treating diseases. Utilizes equipment, instruments, and computer systems effectively.
3. Evaluates and reports patient results using independent judgment within established testing methods.
4. Performs quality control procedures and maintains laboratory equipment, supplies, and environment.
5. Assists in developing and implementing new procedures and instrumentation.
6. May oversee laboratory projects such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory compliance, staff development, and computer systems.
7. Trains new employees and students, serving as a resource for less experienced staff.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
