Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity lab tests on blood and body fluids. You will ensure accurate results by following QC protocols and maintaining instruments.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Requires passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW).
• 0-2 years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests with accurate documentation.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and analyzes data to resolve out-of-range results.
• Performs instrument checks, maintenance, and preventive actions.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and communicates issues as needed.
• Ensures safety compliance and uses PPE according to Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates test results and abnormal findings to staff and supervisors.
• Assists with proficiency testing and regulatory data collection.
• May perform phlebotomy duties and support patient care.
• Collaborates with team to ensure efficient shift coverage.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
