Job summary

Labcorp in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Medical Technologist I to join the Immunology team. The role operates Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm and requires a bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological science or MLS; ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
• MLS degree fulfills the qualification requirement.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
• Resolve pendings and document specimen discrepancies with management notification when unresolved.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results for quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
• Comply with regulatory guidelines and Labcorp SOPs at all times.
