Job summary

Labcorp in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Associate Medical Technologist to join our Immunology team. You will perform routine and complex testing according to SOPs, monitor instrumentation, and contribute to accurate reporting of patient results.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science and may require ASCP or AMT certification. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with potential overtime based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Experience with laboratory information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.
