Job summary

Labcorp in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Medical Technologist I to join the Genomics team. You will perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures to support patient care and research initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science and related experience or MLS; ASCP/AMT certification preferred. Monday–Friday schedule with potential overtime and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/biological sciences or CLIA-regulated equivalent.
• One year of clinical lab testing experience OR MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing per SOPs.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Resolve pendings and document discrepancies.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE.
• Comply with regulatory guidelines and SOPs.
