Job Overview

Under general supervision, performs quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard procedures. Analyzes test results, maintains records, and prepares samples for testing. Responsible for troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation and acting as a resource to other laboratory personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university, or equivalent military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or qualified at the Medical Technologist level by a satisfactory HHS examination prior to 2/28/92.
• Prefer 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist experience in an acute care setting.
• Registered or registry eligible (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS within 12 months of hire). Non-US trained personnel must complete equivalency evaluation within 30 days of hire. State licensure as required.
