Job summary

American Esoteric Labs in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist for first shift. The role involves 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, on-site in a laboratory setting.

You will perform moderate to high complexity testing, review results, and ensure accuracy while maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an AMA-approved Medical Laboratory training program to qualify as an MLT.
• Or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred and completion of an AMA-approved program of Medical Technology to qualify as MT.
• Current TN licensure as MLT or MT.
• Certification or eligible by ASCP or equivalent.
• 6 months of laboratory training or experience.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment (phones, computers, analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, pipettes, alarms).

Responsibilities

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing.
• Analyze, review, and report testing results.
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory with biological and chemical hazards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
