Job summary

American Esoteric Labs in Knoxville, TN seeks a front-line medical laboratory professional for first shift. You will perform moderate and high complexity tests, analyze results, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced lab.

Requirements include a high school diploma with AMA-approved MLT training or a BS in Medical Technology; TN licensure as MLT/MT and ASCP eligibility are preferred. 40 hours weekly; competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Medical Technology or AMA-approved MT program preferred.
• Current TN licensure as MLT or MT.
• ASCP or equivalent certification or eligibility.
• 6 months of laboratory training or experience.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to high complexity testing.
• Analyze, review, and report test results.
• Identify when corrective action is needed and implement it.
• Work safely in a lab with hazards while upholding quality control.

This opportunity is full-time during first shift.

Location:

Knoxville, TN

Days:

Monday - Friday with rotating weekends.

Hours:

6AM to 2:30PM

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• High school diploma or equivalent and the completion of an AMA-approved Medical Laboratory training program to qualify as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Or
• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred and completion of an AMA-approved program of Medical Technology to qualify as a Medical Technologist (MT)
• Current TN licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT).
• Certification or eligible by ASCP or equivalent
• 6 months of laboratory training or experience
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.

Bonus points if you’ve got:

• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within area of specialty
