Job summary

American Esoteric Labs in Knoxville, TN is seeking a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist for full-time first shift. You will perform moderate to high complexity testing, analyze results, and report findings while ensuring safety and quality in a fast-paced lab.

Requirements include AMA-approved MLT or MT training, TN licensure, ASCP certification eligibility, and 6 months of lab experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with AMA-approved MLT training to qualify as MLT.
• BS degree with AMA-approved Medical Technology program to qualify as MT (preferred).
• Current TN licensure as MLT or MT.
• ASCP certification or eligibility; 6 months of lab training/experience.
• Bonus points for 2+ years of high-complexity testing in area of specialty.

Location: Knoxville, TN

Days: Monday - Friday with rotating weekends.

Hours: 6AM to 2:30PM

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• High school diploma or equivalent and the completion of an AMA-approved Medical Laboratory training program to qualify as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred and completion of an AMA-approved program of Medical Technology to qualify as a Medical Technologist (MT)
• Current TN licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT).
• Certification or eligible by ASCP or equivalent
• 6 months of laboratory training or experience
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
• Bonus points if you’ve got: 2+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within area of specialty
