The role includes instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, data collection for regulatory compliance, and potential teaching of new staff or students, with phlebotomy duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required.
• Passing score on a clinical laboratory technology proficiency exam approved by HHS (HEW) is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and documents results.
• Conducts instrument function checks and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
• Communicates with staff regarding results and equipment issues.
• Assists with proficiency testing and regulatory data collection.
• Collects urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy as needed.
• Collaborates with team to complete shift duties efficiently.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains attendance.
