Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Science is required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW) is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently with timely results.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and analyzes data to troubleshoot out-of-range results.
• Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance as required.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates results and issues with healthcare staff promptly.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as needed to support patient care.
