Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General’s Stow Health and Wellness Center seeks a Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician (PRN) in the Pathology-Diagnostics Institute. Duties include performing and interpreting tests across complexity levels, maintaining quality control, and adhering to regulatory standards.

The role supports patient care across day/evening/night/weekend shifts. The position offers exposure to a broad clinical lab environment with opportunities to train in various instrument platforms,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clause.
• Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided.
• Education outside the United States requires translation and foreign equivalency proof.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret tests at all complexity levels.
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, reporting and record keeping.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge related to job duties and adhere to quality control policies.
• Identify and correct problems affecting test performance or reporting; notify supervisors as needed.
• Maintain instruments and documentation per manufacturer specs and good documentation practices.
• Participate in continuing education and annual competency assessment.
• Educate and train students, employees and residents as needed.
