Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System's Stow Health and Wellness Center seeks a Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician (PRN) to perform and interpret tests across complexity levels in the Pathology-Diagnostics Institute. This role supports patient care by maintaining quality control, adhering to CLIA regulations, and documenting results.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and meet high-complexity testing qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Meets CLIA high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clause.
• Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided and education verified.
• Foreign education requires English translation and NACES evaluation.
• Preferred: MT/MLT/MLS certification eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses and reporting.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge related to job duties and ensure compliance.
• Adhere to quality control policies, including calibrations and maintenance.
• Identify and address quality issues; notify supervisors when needed.
• Maintain instruments and equipment per manufacturer specifications.
• Document results clearly and maintain good records for patient care.
• Perform proficiency testing per CLIA regulations and complete required records.
• Participate in continuing education and annual competency assessments.
• Follow policies when test systems are outside acceptable performance levels.
• Educate students, employees and residents on theory and safety.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution

Meets the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clause

Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided

Education will be verified

Education outside of the United States translation + foreign equivalency proof (NACES)
