Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its clinical laboratory team. You will perform a wide range of routine and complex analyses across multiple lab sections, directly impacting patient diagnosis and care.

The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly on the Evening Shift with rotating weekends/holidays. Minimum requirements include a BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology and MT-ASCP/MLT-ASCP eligibility; new grads

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques

Education

BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology

MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP eligible within first year of employment
