Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT is seeking a full-time Clinical Laboratory professional for the Evening Shift. You will perform and report a wide range of routine and complex analyses across multiple lab sections, impacting patient care.

Minimum requirements include a BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology, and MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP (or eligibility) within the first year. New grads welcome; visa sponsorship is not available.

As a key member of our clinical laboratory, you will perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections—directly impacting patient diagnosis, treatment decisions, and clinical outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Position Hours

• 32 hours, Evening Shift, rotating wknds/holidays

Minimum Requirements

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP. Or must be eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment.
