Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a laboratory professional to independently perform routine and complex analyses on clinical specimens across sections, ensuring accuracy and timely results.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining instruments, mentoring staff, serving as consultant, and contributing to continuing education; may collect specimens and adhere to HIPAA and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program is required.
• ASCP Certification within 1 year of hire if in PA; 6 months if NY for new grads.
• 1–2 years of clinical lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex procedures to provide quality clinical information.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation with QC awareness.
• Mentors ALT, MLT, phlebotomists, students and staff to ensure accuracy.
• Serves as a consultant to staff and participates in continuing education.
• May collect and process patient specimens in line with policies and timelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
