Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a laboratory professional to independently perform routine and complex analyses on clinical specimens. The role includes operating and maintaining instrumentation, ensuring quality control, and mentoring staff and students.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in an ASCP eligible program; Pennsylvania locations require MLS/MT or equivalent certification within 1 year of hire. Preferred 1–2 years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an ASCP eligible program.
• If located in Pennsylvania: MLS, MT, Categorical or Specialty ASCP Certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Preferred: 1 to 2 years clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation while ensuring quality control.
• Provides oversight and mentors staff and students in laboratory testing and procedures.
• May collect and process patient specimens in accordance with lab policies and within expected time frames.
