Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to independently perform routine and highly complex analyses on clinical specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.

Responsibilities include verifying analytic accuracy, operating and maintaining instruments, mentoring ALT/MLT and students, and serving as a consultant to medical staff. The role emphasizes quality, compliance with policies, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree ASCP eligible program.
• If located in Pennsylvania: MLS, MT, Categorical or Specialty ASCP Certification, required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens.
• Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, and linearity for test methods.
• Operates, calibrates, and maintains instrumentation; addresses QC issues.
• Mentors ALT/MLT, phlebotomists, students and new staff to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Serves as a consultant to medical staff and participates in continuing education.
