Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a laboratory professional to independently perform routine and complex analyses on clinical specimens. You will oversee instrumentation, QC, and mentor ALT/MLT/phlebotomists, while acting as a consultant to medical staff and participating in ongoing education.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an ASCP eligible program and PA-specific certification within 1 year of hire; 1–2 years of lab experience is preferred. A sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ASCP eligible program.
• PA: MLS/MT/ASCP Certification required within 1 year of hire.
• 1–2 years clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens.
• Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation; ensures QC.
• Provides oversight and mentors ALT/MLT/phlebotomists and students.
• Serves as a consultant to staff and participates in continuing education.
• May collect and process patient specimens per policy and timelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
