UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Medical Technologist for the General Lab on a PRN, varied shifts basis. The role is part of the MAST union and reports to Laboratory Services leadership.

Medical Technologist who excels in this role:
Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states.
Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services.

Patient Populations Served: Does not directly treat or care for patients.
Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present.
Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting, computer/data entry, and equipment handling; occasional standing, walking, and light lifting.
Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Minimum Education Bachelor's degree
Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT preferred (licensure must reflect education requirements).
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Valid driver license
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP); ASCP or equivalent registry
