Employee will be assigned to Patient Care Service under Ambulatory Care Nursing at either the VA Medical Center, Durham, NC, or the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Raleigh, NC. The position involves duties such as specimen collection, processing, and preparation for transport, ensuring accuracy and integrity for testing.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), proficiency in basic written and spoken English is required for direct patient care positions.
Selective Placement Factor: Must have experience performing phlebotomy/blood draws on human patients.
Specialized Experience: At least 1 year of experience in laboratory support work, including performing tests, specimen handling, and related tasks, equivalent to GS-4 level.
OR
Education: Successful completion of a 4-year course leading to a bachelor's degree with relevant coursework.
OR
Combination of education and experience meeting the qualification standards.
Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work. All experience must include start/end dates and hours worked.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, working with PPE, and dexterity tasks are required.
