Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for Med/Surg/Telemetry in Shelby, NC for a 13-week travel assignment starting 10/12/2026.

Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with floating to regional facilities as needed. Requires 18 months Med/Surg/Tele experience, BLS/ACLS, EPIC proficiency, and strong cardiac rhythm skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months Med/Surg RN experience.
• Active RN license with BLS/ACLS; NIHSS preferred.
• Experience in Telemetry and Cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Provide Med/Surg/Telemetry nursing care on 12-hour night shifts.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and manage non-titrating drips.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.

On Call, Call Back Requirements:Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days

Weekend Rotation: EOW

Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

Floating Requirements: Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH)

Unit Information:

• Beds: 32
  • Average Census: 28

Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele RN exp

• Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Total Joint Replacements, Colon resection, gallbladder, appendectomy, amputations, medical overflow, hip fractures, SBO, NG tubes

Patient Ratios:

• RN: Days 1:4-6; Nights 1:5-6 – in surge staffing could see ratios of up to 1:7-8
• LPN (if applicable): Days 1:4-6; Nights 1:5-6 – in surge staffing could see ratios of up to 1:7-8
• CNA: 1:10-11, or 1: 16 (depends on staffing)

Required Licensure & Certifications:

• RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Skills required:

• Basic Med/Tele skillset: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating Cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, Central line management, etc.

Support within the Department:

• CNA - Vital signs, baths, mobility, turning, blood sugars
• Receptionist/HUC: Rounds and secretary duties
• Charge nurse – Resource to assist with all nursing care
• Phlebotomy: Yes, other than nurse draws
• IV/VAT Team
• RT, 24/7
• Hospitalist, 24/7
• Intensivist, 24/7
• Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips

Floating:

• Within region and scope of practice
• Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
  • Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH)
  • If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

Orientation (facility and unit):

• NEO
• 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other
• Call: Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays yes
• RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
• Shift times: 0645-1900, 1845-0700
• Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
