Job summary

HireTalent - Staffing & Recruiting Firm seeks a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Float Pool in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. You will provide care across inpatient units including General Med Surg and Cardiac patients, with a supportive culture welcoming first-time travelers.

This role requires an active RN license, minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. The position includes 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Float Pool

Shift: 12-Hour Days or Nights | Travel Assignment

Position Overview

Join the Med Surg Float Pool and provide care across multiple inpatient units, including General Med Surg, Ortho/Neuro, Cardiac, and ER Holding/Boarding as needed. This role offers a dynamic clinical experience and welcomes first-time travelers.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• General Medical and Surgical
• Oncology patients (no chemotherapy administration required)
• Orthopedic and Neuro patients
• Cardiac post‑procedure and telemetry patients
• Stroke/TIA, altered mental status
• Gallbladder, appendectomy, colectomy, ostomy, TURP, and joint replacement patients

Required Skills

• Chest tube management
• Tracheostomy care
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Central line and port management
• Feeding tube management
• Experience with titratable drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin preferred
• Epic charting proficiency
• Days: 1:4–6
• Nights: 1:6
• Dedicated support from CNAs, Charge Nurses, Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalists, Phlebotomy, and Therapy Services

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Every other weekend rotation
• No on-call requirement
• Holiday rotation may include up to 50% of contract holidays
• Block scheduling considered based on staffing needs

Floating & Orientation

• Expected to float throughout the hospital wherever Med Surg patients are assigned, including ER Holding/Boarding
• Comprehensive orientation includes Epic training and unit-specific onboarding with additional support when floating to new areas
