Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Float Pool RN for night shift with 2+ years of comparable acuity experience and Cerner EMR proficiency required.

The role covers multiple acute care units across medical, surgical, oncology, ortho, neuro, and cardiac services. 3x12h night shifts with no on-call, every other weekend, and travel-friendly scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a comparable acuity hospital setting
• Cerner EMR charting experience
• Two professional references required

Responsibilities

• Float pool covers multiple acute care units including med/surg, oncology, ortho, neuro, cardio, vascular, and pulmonary
• Assignments made by nursing supervisor based on staffing needs
• Night shift, 3×12 hours, 6:45p–7:15a with a 30-minute lunch
• Patient ratios vary by unit, typically 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Not open to block scheduling
• Float to units including medical, surgery/GI, trauma, oncology, ortho, joint replacement, neuro, vascular, pulmonary, and cardiac surgery
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous employees eligible to return
• Travel pairs allowed
• Orientation and annual modules averaging 2–4 hours per specialty
