Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Medical Surgical CNA to assist with patient care responsibilities, including daily activities, mobility, and vital signs monitoring. The successful candidate will work full-time shifts during nights at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas.

Qualified candidates will have a current CNA certificate, BLS certification, and preferably six months of related experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, paid vacation, and a 401K plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living like bathing and dressing.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to nurses.
• Maintain clean and safe patient environments.

Overview

We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, and feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, and help with wound care under the direction of an RN.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
