Prime Healthcare in Harlingen, TX is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver comprehensive perioperative care for postoperative and medically complex patients. The role requires strong assessment, monitoring, and patient education skills within a 12-hour day shift.

Eligible candidates will have an active RN license, BLS, ACLS within 30 days, and experience in acute care. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous acute-care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

We are seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Med Surge RN. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by providing comprehensive care to patients who are recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status
• Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met
• Provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current and valid state RN License.
• 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• 5. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• 6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• 7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
