Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Medical Surgical CNA to assist with patient care, mobility, feeding and vital signs, while supporting nurses and maintaining a safe environment. 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am) and full-time employment with sign-on bonus apply.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA certification, BLS, and basic medical terminology knowledge, with prior acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required at hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum six months’ experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients; feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs; observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses; assist with wound care under RN direction.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensuring the environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.

We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med‑Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients; feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration); observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses; help with wound care under RN direction.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensuring the environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
• Current BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain it thereafter.
• Possesses knowledge of medical terminology.
