Job summary

Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, AK seeks a friendly front desk specialist to support patient flow and communications. You will answer telephones, route calls, assist with in-patient admission and discharge, and help maintain accurate medical records across departments.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least one year in a public-facing role; familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: One year experience in a position that requires dealing with the public preferred.
• Previous switchboard experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• License, Certification, Registration: None required.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones and routes the calls to appropriate department or party in a professional manner.
• Facilitates the in-patient admit and discharge process.
• Assist nursing and medical staff with creating, maintaining, and completing patient medical records.
• Communicates patient care needs with other departments.
• As assigned, assists the Case Management Team with various office duties.

• Yup’ik speaker preferred.
