The Medical Support Assistant (Advanced) position is based in the Hammond Community Based Outpatient Clinic of the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System. It handles receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information to support patient care.

Typical duties include coordinating clinic utilization, maintaining effective communication with the patient care team, and managing follow-up tasks and pre-visit requirements.

Qualificações

• Education recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinates with the patient care team to review clinic utilization using reports.
• Monitors clinic setup and makes adjustments to support patient care.
• Maintains effective communication with patients, interdisciplinary team, VA medical centers, and other agencies to support patient care.
• Manages a tracking system for follow-up care such as consults and tests.
• Enters appropriate information into the electronic record and reviews pre-appointment requirements.
• Informs providers about shared patients between VA facilities and community care.
