An established industry player seeks an Advanced Medical Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. The incumbent serves as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) in the VA Community Care (VACC) Service Line. The AMSA works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model. The work involves specialized administrative judgment and the flexible use of clinical flow processes related to access to care across multiple community care clinics, specialties, and resources.
Duties
The Advanced MSA screens and receives phone calls courteously and promptly, determines the nature of requests, and provides information in accordance with privacy rules established by VACC processes and HIPAA. Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
Certification: None required.
English Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English per VA standards.
May qualify under the Grandfathering Provision if applicable.
Grade Determinations
Medical Support Assistant (Advanced) GS-6
Experience: One year at the GS-5 level including skills such as operating computerized programs, understanding medical terminology, scheduling appointments, working independently, and effective communication.
