Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience is required.
• One year of specialized experience in a clinical setting is preferred, including scheduling and EHR use.

Responsibilities

• Works with Scheduler Team Lead to ensure schedulers are competent and represent VA positively.
• Coordinates and authorizes Veteran care with community providers when VA care is unavailable.
• Communicates with VA medical providers on rules for VA Community Care and advises on processes.
• Updates and validates patient demographic information.
• Processes health/administrative data for CPRS and VistA integration.
• Handles community care consults via HS RM and PPMS systems.

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Medical Support Assistants to provide administrative services to the Northern Colorado VA Outpatient Clinic in Loveland, CO.

Job Summary

Medical Support Assistants must perform a full range of receptionist duties to our VA community located at the Northern Colorado VA Outpatient Clinic in Loveland, CO. Medical Support Assistants are required to deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to all individuals

Pay Rate: $18.59 / hr + $5.42 H & W Fringe

Duties

• Works with Scheduler Team Lead and scheduling team to ensure all schedulers are competent and represent the VA in a positive, proactive demeanor.
• Works with Scheduler team lead to achieve all patient communications are completed on time and appropriately.
• Coordinates and authorizes Veteran care with community providers that the VA does not supply or cannot supply timely.
• Communicates with VA medical providers on rules and regulations for VA Community Care and advises on appropriate processes.
• Personnel shall notify their Lead MSA/supervisor when automated systems are not performing as needed.
• Validates and update patient demographic information.
• When records are received, the incumbent will ensure that all necessary health/administrative information are processed to be integrated into Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).
• Properly processes community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS) systems and/or other systems as needed.
• Screens/receives phone calls in a courteous and timely manner.
• Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services.
• Daily computer use of Microsoft office products to include Excel, Word, Outlook & Microsoft Teams.
• Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, pre and post- appointments contacts as required
• The contractor provides quality customer service for all patients; patient families; VA Staff, contractors, physicians, fellows, residents.

Qualifications

• Have a High School education or GED equivalent
• Type at least 50 WPM
• Basic medical terminology knowledge
• Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
• One (1) year of specialized experience in clinical setting (doctor’s office, clinic, hospital), Specializing in:
• oscheduling medical appointments in a clinical setting
• oExperience utilizing electronic health record systems
• oExperience screening and directing telephone calls appropriately.
