The Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) position is in the Sterile Processing Service at the VA Bedford Healthcare System located at the Bedford, MA location. This position is full time at 40 hours per week.

This position provides sterilization, preparation, supply items, and reusable medical equipment (RME) decontamination and distribution support for the medical center. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
May qualify based on the Grandfathering Provision if applicable.
Criteria for grade assignment include:
Work involves exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and medications, requiring safety precautions, PPE, and physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and manipulating instruments. The environment may be noisy, hot, cold, and poorly lit, with potential hazards including burns, cuts, and exposure to body fluids. Proficiency in office and VA automated systems is required.
