Lead Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing)

Join to apply for the Lead Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) role at VA Detroit.

Summary: The Lead Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) is part of the Nursing Service line at VA Boston Health Care System in West Roxbury, MA. This full-time position involves 40 hours per week, with travel to other VA Boston Healthcare System campuses as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Medical Supply Technicians (GS-6 or below), providing guidance and supervision.
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently, distributing workload and managing schedules.
  • Maintain SPS standards and participate in evaluating sterilization and decontamination processes.
  • Train staff on procedures, policies, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor quality and compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.

Work Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with rotating weekends, holidays, and nights as needed.

Qualifications: Must have 6 months of relevant experience or 1 year of healthcare-related education, including courses in sterile processing or similar fields. Proficiency in English and U.S. Citizenship required.

Grade Level: GS-07 with demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in leadership, sterilization principles, and staff training.
